Assam tea workers have locked horns with the Indian government for the right to be recognized as a tribal race to achieve this objective they are collectively represented by the All-Assam Tea Tribe Students’ Association (AATTSA) who have lobbied the central Indian Government to acknowledge the rights of the Assam tea workers to be officially endorsed in the government list of Scheduled Tribes.
