San Francisco City Hall. March 2, 2008. This massive Beaux-Arts public monument spanning two square city blocks of Civic Center, was completed in 1915, replacing the original City Hall,destroyed by the 1906 Earthquake and fire. It's dome is the fifth largest in the world.
American Icon, Joe DiMaggio, the hometown baseball hero married American Sex Goddess Icon Marilyn Monroe at City Hall in 1954. Dan White assassinated Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk in City Hall in 1978.
