The Kucha Grand Mosque is probably best visited when in the region of Xinjiang, China on one of the Silk Roads which run along the Taklamakan Desert.
Other sights to be taken in whilst on the Silk Road include the Thousand Budha Caves dating back to the 5th and 6th century AD and the ancient city of Subash.
