Mission Dolores and Cemetery, San Francisco May 19, 2008

Just a few pictures I shot of Mission Dolores.
First shot is of Mission building facing Dolores St.
The second shot is of the first Governor of California's grave and stone.
The third shot is of the first Alcalde of San Francisco.'s resting place.
The fourth shot is of the altar inside the Mission itself. Kind of dark.
The fifth shot is a diorama of the Mission and grounds in the early days.
The sixth shot is of a mosaic on the Mission wall.
The next shot is of a tomb stone set in the floor of the Mission. Yup, they buried two inside the church itself.
The eighth shot is of an Indian woman, her statue stands amidst the tombstones in the cemetary.
The last shot is of an Ohlone indian structure sitting in the cemetery.

The interesting thing is that most of the tombstones have Irish names on them.
They out number the Hispanics.
A lot of them were first generation Irish also.
