Santa Fe, New Mexico (Part 2)

That image is a Petroglyph of a Macaw. The area around where we were staying had over 7000 ruins, This was a highly populated area which traded as far south as Mexico, where their pet parrots and Macaws came from.
They were there for 10,000 years living a sustainable life style but the majority perished within a generation or two of the first European settlements. I will attach another image showing a footpath to a now ruined and deserted village. They walked this path so many times that their feet wore a deep groove in the rock, know there is nothing there but shards of pottery and a lonely blowing wind of the Rio Grande.
