Aston Villa 2-2 Manchester United - Barclays English Premier League 2010 - Villa Park

Villa Park
Saturday, November 13, 2010

Old adversaries meet for the first time in years as ex Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier now the new Aston Villa manager welcomes to Villa Park old foe maybe not old friend but lots of respect is there for the legendary SAF – as Sir Alex Ferguson brings the Red Devils to Birmingham to win three points!

What to expect could be a drag of a game as Gerard will have Villa set up in a likely 4-5-1 with the lone striker up front in the hope he can poach a goal. Man Utd will be set up to attack with even maybe a 4-3-1-2 with two up front and one in the hole to support they will score and they will win the game. But the crowd might be bored with the play as it will be all defence by Villa and it is likely that Manchester United forwards will only break through the Villa wall one time only. United to win 1-0

Todays referee Mike Dean

Now that could be a problem even before the game begins this referee for sure is not the best!

2 minutes Park has started brightly running down the left flank

9 minutes as we forecast Villa are packing the defence the game is boring so far – but the bore could last the whole match as Houllier will not risk letting Villa open up play as he knows that if they do that United will drive through all the gaps and score a hatful of goals . That much as we would like to see is not going to happen!

16 minutes Berbatov misses what should have been the opening goal gets on the end of ball played into the box by Hernandez but Berba misses he should have scored!

19 minutes Yellow card for Bannan as he trips Hernandez

Possession Play Aston Villa 44% - 56% Manchester United

Right there is a buzz around the ground it is in fact the hair dryer sound buzz coming from the United dressing room as SAF turns on the hair dryer at high! That performance from United was just not good enough!

Hernandez and Berbatov have not fired up front for United!

46 minutes game is back on or we hope so a goal needed badly!

50 minutes Villa have not changed how they are set up to defend – but they have raised the tempo of their game

52 minutes Yellow card for Nani as he elbows Warnock in the face – he can have no complaints ar getting carded.

54 minutes Albrighton misses a sitter in front of goal after getting on the end of a Downing pass but then shoots wide of the post! What a miss!

64 minutes out comes the Yellow card again as Hernandez gets carded for a late tackle

65 minutes expecting SAF to make some changes this is a joke!

66 minutes Collins heads the ball crashing into the United crossbar but fails to score

68 minutes AV are nothing special by any standards but are playing better than United so far in this half

71 minutes Penalty for Villa – Wes Brown brought down Young in the box
