Dan White climbed through a basement window to avoid the metal
detectors at all the entrances. Once inside he went about
methodically committing his heinous crimes. It has been reported that
when the police were alerted and the all points bulletin put out for
the murderer, one of there own, some of the boys in blue began singing
"Danny Boy". ….. over the police radio.

After the stunning verdict and sentence were announced, word spread
fast throughout The City. By evening an angry mob had assembled on
Castro Street, heart of the gay community . It wasn't long before
they were headed down Market Street to City Hall. In what later
became known as The White Nights Riot, the enraged mob torched
numerous police cars and shattered windows beneath the domed City
Hall.
