The Writer's Guild of America strike against the multi-national producers now in week 7 is about sharing the vast sums of money from New Media distribution of Motion Pictures and TV shows. The Writer's want a share not just the usual "Monkey Points".
The strike affects everyone in the industry, from Teamster drivers to top film directors like Chris Columbus. You can be certain that Chris is paying his entire staff at 1492 Productions out of his own pocket if necessary (including thoughtful and generous Christmas gifts}. That's just the kind of guy he is.
Chris has made us all laugh with his wonderful comedies like Home Alone and Mrs. Doubtfire. CJD salutes Chris for all the great laughs he has provided in his great comedy classics.
His mother and father were factory workers and Chris worked alongside them during summer breaks to put himself through NYU. Chris is a devoted family man, a man's man. A stand up guy. In a pinch you can count on Chris.... Tommy knows...a working class hero is something to be, and Chris Columbus is one.
