On the night of Aug 8, 1969, The Family, on Manson's orders butchered 8 1/2 months pregnant Sharon Tate, Hollywood star, wife of Roman Polanski. She was stabbed 16 times, as she begged for the life of her unborn baby. They scrawled 'Pig" on the door with Tate's blood, on there way out. Three others were also slaughtered at the scene of this monstrous crime.
Richard became Manson's Pen Pal for 5 years during the mid 1970's. He has written about his encounters with Manson in his well reviewed play Manson and Me.
