Picasso was a very prolific artist and his means of expression were constantly changing until the end of his life, in each painting he became more daring than his last, his paintings more vibrant and significant. In the tiny “La Suppliante”, we see a poignant and dramatic praying figure, her hands held up to the heavens in a gesture of torment and hope.
