Pablo Picasso
Nude on a Beach, 1929
Oil on canvas, 195 x 130cm
Musée Picasso, Paris
Executed whilst in Paris, this painting reflects his fading relations with his wife Olga Khoklova. The nude distorted female figure seems dreamlike and reveals unnerving elements in the artist’s subconscious. The surreal nature of this painting is also seen in several other works from this period.
