The authorities in China led by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) are undertaking steps to maintain improved law and order for the most populated country in the world. The Chinese police department are being instructed to make all police sit a qualification exam which they must pass before they will be considered qualified to act as law enforcement officers.
This move means over 2 million existing police officers will be required to pass the tests to ensure they can continue in their present law and order discipline position. Chinese Police Officers who pass the exam will then continue duties for five years whereupon they will be re-examined prior to getting the go ahead for the following 5 years service on patrol. Within police ranks officers seeking promotion will be assessed according to their exam results and real time on patrol track record as a police officer, thereupon the best will be deemed suitable for promotion subject to senior vacancies needing new officers.
