Sean Penn portraying Harvey Milk, on location, Castro Street, San Francisco, January 28,2008, in the film now titled Milk. Principal photography has just been completed. San Francisco Supervisor Milk and Mayor George Moscone were assassinated by Dan White on November 27, 1978 in San Francisco City Hall.
CJD wrote about these cold blooded murders in November 2007, in our 3 part series Dale Metcalf remembers. Dale's suggestion of the diminished capacity defense, forever known as the Twinkie Defense, saved the murderer from life imprisonment.
This should be an important historical film. Sean Penn always delivers a great performance.
