In the latest, pointless and senseless of moves, the self acclaimed ‘red shirts’ have got a gang of taxi drivers to block all the roads around Victory Monument in the tea time rush hour near the center of the city in Bangkok
This is just so negative and is typical of the so called political nonsense that prevails in Thailand in recent times
Let’s review what today’s disruption achieves!
• It stops the public getting home from daywork shifts
• It stops the public from getting to nightwork shift locations
• It creates negative publicity driving away tourists
• It stops traders and shops in the area from doing business
• It angers the masses!
• It pleases only the senseless protagonists
• It places the profile of the magnificent Thailand in a very negative way
• It will achieve absolutely zero progress for the ‘red shirts’ and their causes
• It is ‘Songkran’ this weekend so people who are traveling will have their journeys delayed and disrupted
• At least one hospital has been blocked off, so the sick may suffer, as doctors, ambulances, service vehicles etc and the public will not have access in or out
Some website quotes from ordinary people in the streets :-
Isn't ignorance bliss...... the financial world (including Thailands) is crashing around us, and all these poor sods have to occupy their time and thoughts with is restoring Thaksin (assuming that is basically what it is all about)...... oblivious to it all, they continue to rip their nations credibility to shreds on the world stage.......
bang, bang....... bang-bang-bang........ whats that sound I hear you say? Looks like another Thai has shot themself in the foot........ again, Again, and AGAIN....... at this stage, they might as well chop their feet off.
apparently, there is not enough crisis and job losses right now that they want to destroy what is left...
nice publicity for people planning to come to Thailand : DO NOT COME
The current downpour in Bangkok 'may' thankfully put a damper on red-spirit but the rain will also likely have many commuters 'seeing red'...
The UDD are un-educated; as the 3 conditions make absolutely no sense
Poor Thailand !
The mind boggles we wish for normality to return to Thailand and all it’s delightful people, of course meaning to all, that are not mixed up in this fiasco
