The breaking news is that Tiger Woods has split with his caddie Steve Williams after 12 years and a run of almost unparalleled success where Tiger won 13 majors. But hey after all the dust settles down after the initial flurry of comments that this news will bring, we are firmly of the belief that the move will be best for both Tiger and Steve. In fact Steve is already back in work and will carry the bag for Australian golfer Adam Scott who he was working with only last week in the British Open.
This impasse we hope will help Tiger as his number one objective has to be getting back to 100 percent fitness, because on ability alone there has to be some more major victories for Tiger in the future. Now with the split he has not got to think that maybe he needs to keep playing to keep his golfer – caddie relationship intact.
So looking to when Tiger is fighting fit again who will the new caddie be? Well there will be a queue that is for sure, but we believe that the standout candidate has to be Billy Foster. This guy is at present working with Lee Westwood with great success among which Lee was for a spell ranked number one in the world. Billy worked for years with new British Open champion Darren Clarke and was of course the caddie for his late great friend the legendary Seve Ballesteros. Tiger has known Billy for years and they had one tournament together the 2005 Presidents Cup when Steve Williams was on leave.
Billy would be the man to fire Tiger back to the number one spot and together new majors will be on the horizon!
