City Journalist Directory was established in October 2007 and we have never missed a day in publishing new content
But ironically only in the last 4 days our hosting server crashed and we lost 5 days of events for the 5 days before the server failed
Thankfully we have recovered over 99% of the lost data and the missing 5 days we are restoring by hand and will complete the restoration asap
This latest Whats New release is to showcase our premier team of editors, writers, stringers, correspondents and photographers, they are all valued members of our team

June 2009 Boosted by Volume Traffic from Iran (2009-06-21 08:13:21)
Prior to the plane landing in the Hudson River, Twitter was doing well, but getting the plane images posted on the site – and oomph the site business was swamped in a volcanic increase in traffic and worldwide interest
Fast forward to June 2009 and City Journalist Directory was steadily growing, consolidating and publishing quality content
Then as happens in real time along came the Iran Elections and since the aftermath with the demonstrations the focus worldwide has been intense and heavy 24 hours in the day around the clock, day after day
We ran this Iran event yesterday

And the traffic quickly increased with over 36,000 page views in less than 24 hours
Sure that does not put us in the with the big players, but what it certainly consolidates City Journalist Directory as a very significant resource that is picking up volume traffic from a number of relevant and important niche events of both national and international importance and interest
We have a number of images that we have received from Iran during the last few days, these pictures are being processed and approved and will be published asap
We do post images in real time, but we are moderating the increased backlog of incoming images
News is News, whether it be sport, politics, history etc if it is interesting then we will publish, as we feel the public has the right to know what is happening around the world
Some of our content, which we will publish from Iran will be controversial and in some instances disturbing
We cannot control that, we too find some events abhorrent, but then again we are only the publishers
News is News and regardless should not be censored!

Mid November 2008 and 1 year on from our launch in October 2007
And daily page views are between 10,000 to 20,000 page views per day
Still a long way to go to reach the next 6 months target 3,000,000 page views per month
But we are getting there November 18th page views 16,252
